In any industry there are good companies, bad companies, and so-so companies. The choice between grocery stores may not be so important, but if you find that you need heart surgery, you would be smart to realize that you have a choice of doctors, and that not all doctors are the same. You could get the inside scoop from the nurses who work with them. They know which doctors are the truly competent professionals and which doctors they would avoid at all cost.
Unfortunately, the companies who provide the services we have described here range from wonderful to dreadful. The last thing you need when you are stressed out with your debts is to get taken advantage of by a company who is likely to put you further in the hole.
